The recent report by TechSci Research said that advancement in printer technologies like thermal mobile printers which uses thermal paper
in place of cartridges
, are boosting sales of mobile/portable printers across the globe. The decreasing thermal printers' prices and sharp drop in sales of ink-jet and impact printers
have also impacted the global mobile printer sales.
Though the increase in usage of portable or mobile printers can be witnessed across the countries, the regions such as North American and European regions have seen more growth, the report said.
Furthermore, the incorporation of wireless technologies in mobile printers by retailers is anticipated to further speed up uptake of mobile/portable printers for top-quality and instant printing.
The growing demand for smartphones, tablet PCs and other mobile devices in tandem with the rising trend toward cloud printing, mobile workforces and field sales is projected to drive the world market for mobile/portable printers through to 2020, the report noted.
