Microscan and Varioptic have announced that autofocus MicroHAWK ID-30 and ID-40 barcode readers are now available with a Varioptic autofocus liquid lens element, which enables users to remotely adapt the camera focus or compensate for object dimension changes.
MicroHAWK barcode readers feature a fully-integrated imaging engine and three industrial-rated miniature imagers, and will now feature the Arctic 25H liquid lens.
Samuel Grand, Varioptic BU Director, commented: “The newly-developed Arctic 25H liquid lens is a great fit for industrial compact imagers such as the MicroHAWK, where internal heating, combined with the often harsh environment of industrial cameras, requires extended operating temperature ranges. We are proud that Microscan has expanded its product range based on our Liquid Lens. This consolidates a long-term relationship with Microscan.”
Featuring an extended operating range of -22° to 185°F, the Arctic 25H variable focus lens features a focus range from 5 cm to infinity as well as continuous autofocus for video at up to 30 fps.
Additionally, the liquid lens comes with two different anti-reflective coatings and in a pre-packaged type, with straight or bent FPC connection.
