Honeywell unveils economical thermal desktop printer
Honeywell Sensing and Productivity Solutions, a leader in custom-engineered sensors, switches and controls, and productivity solutions, has unveiled a Thermal Transfer Desktop Printer to meet the needs of a wide range of industries.

Designed for use in environments where affordability is the key, the PC42T is a light-duty printer ready for retail shelf price labeling, general office packing and shipping labeling, and distribution center barcode labeling applications, said a company statement.

Well-suited for companies and small-business owners, who are looking to upgrade to thermal printing from inkjet or laser printers for the first time, it is easy to setup and inexpensive to own, a Trade Arabia News Service report quoting the release said.

The printer includes broad, industry-standard connectivity including USB device and USB host, plus optional serial or serial plus Ethernet.

Tony Nasr, business leader, India, Middle East and Africa, said: "Companies and small business owners across the Middle East are always looking for ways to streamline their operations in a way which saves time and money, while safeguarding operational efficiency. By providing this high-quality, reliable and accessible printing solution, Honeywell enables its customers to become more competitive without compromising on quality."

The new PC42t thermal transfer desktop printer will be an economical choice for media up to 110 millimeters wide, the statement said.

With an ability to accommodate large ribbon sizes, the PC42t can print longer before needing media replenishment, increasing productivity in label-making operations.

The PC42t's compact size, common media specifications, support for Direct Protocol, and ZPLII and EPL command emulation also make it an easy upgrade from legacy Intermec or competing thermal printers, it said.

The new printer has also been backed by a three-year manufacturer's warranty exclusively for customers in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, it added.
