DENSO ADC has recently announced the updated version of its QK Series of barcode reader called QK30 scanner.
The new barcode scanner is specifically designed to enable reading 1D and 2D barcodes displayed on the LCD screens of cell phones and other mobile devices.
The high performing 2D barcode reader can scan also through codes printed on paper and is designed to capture data in case the codes are blurred or dirty. ;The high performing device is 50% thinner than previous models, but still has a 30% larger scanning area, which allows it to efficiently scan through smartphones and mobile devices having large-screen.
Applications include e-tickets, e-coupons and e-membership cards. The scanner is uniquely different from conventional scanners since the QK30 can read LCD screens having varying reflections, colors and contrasts features, capturing the data even in feeble lighting.
The company has made available both versions: countertop and in-counter. The scanner enables a vast range of applications, including point-of-sale terminals to being used in multi-media terminals and entrance/exit gates. Designers of 2D barcode scanners worldwide are offering high end portable products to different companies which have decided to replace laser-etched serial numbers in their production units.
