The Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) has bestowed this year’s Best Photo Printer award to the Epson SureColor P5000 Inkjet Printer.
Epson announced the news through a tweet, which says, “We're excited to announce that the Epson SureColor P5000 won Best Photo Printer in the prestigious TIPA Awards 2017.”
Representatives from 27 professional, amateur and business magazines from Asia, Australia, Europe and North and South America, with a delegate from the Camera Journal Press Club in Japan, were selected to judge this year’s awards, an Epson press release said.
As one of the largest and most influential photographic and imaging press associations in the world, TIPA bases its judgment on the innovation, design and ergonomics, ease-of-use, the use of leading-edge technology and price-to-performance ratio of products in each award category launched over a 12-month period. The awards ceremony will be held on June 16, 2017 at Tokyo.
While announcing the award for EpsonSure Color P50000, which was unveiled in January, 2017, TIPA stated: "The 17-inch SC-P5000 is a desktop proofing, photography and fine art printer that offers a 10-colour ink set, a Precision Core TFP print head and Epson Precision Dot technology. The printer exclusively uses 200ml Ultra Chrome HDX ink cartridges that deliver an enhanced colour gamut and higher density blacks, with improved print permanence compared to previous models”.
“The printer offers improved dust and static control, which means reduced maintenance requirements and greater durability. The Precision Core print head has 360 nozzles per colour for faster printing speeds with variable size droplets as small as 3.5 pico litres, while a 2.7-inch full colour LCD panel makes setup and operation accessible and straightforward," TIPA said.
Led by the Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation, the Epson Group is one of the leading global producers of Imaging products with a line-up that ranges from inkjet printers and digital printing systems to 3LCD projectors, smart glasses, sensing systems and industrial robots. Epson has received a grand total of 38 awards from TIPA, inclusive of the recent one, for its innovations in technology and its imaging printers, since 1997.
This award has dual benefits for Epson as it not only reinforces Epson’s Brand Image but also provides a positive boost to its standing in the Global Market, the release further stated.
