Epson has recently launched its first duplex InkTank printer, Epson L655, in India. Priced at Rs 24,999, the all-in-one printer includes ADF, Wi-Fi, fax and duplex features, along with an additional suite of connectivity functionalities.
The L655 is targeted at office and commercial environments and is claimed to output prints that are water and smudge resistant. It can produce prints having resolution as high as 4800 dpi.
"The added advantage of Wi-Fi Direct allows users to connect up to 4 devices to the printer without a router. The L655 also comes with Ethernet, ensuring superb connectivity and allowing you to easily share your printer within your work group," says Epson in a release.
Epson L655 supports automatic duplex printing to reduce paper wastage. It is equipped with a 30-sheet ADF unit for scanning and copying of multi-page documents. The L655's Broadcast Fax and PC Fax functions allow users to send faxes digitally with their computers. It also has a 100-page fax storage memory for incoming faxes, even if the printer is out of paper or ink.
Epson claims that the costs per print with the L655 is as low as 12 Paise (Black and White) and 20 Paise (Colour).
"Epson's InkTank printers have been a runaway success in India. The corporate and office segment has been asking for an InkTank printer with Duplex printing capabilities, ADF and in-built fax. With the L655 we answer this need," said Siva Kumar, DGM, InkJet Printers.
According to a recent Cyber Media Research (CMR) report, Epson retained the top position in domestic projector market for the first half of FY15-16. The company has 24% market share in India in terms of unit shipments and 27% market share in terms of revenue.
